Friday Afternoon Wedding Ceremony Rehearsal (5-6:30PM): This one speaks for itself. Only guests in the wedding party need to attend the rehearsal at Wolftrap Farm. Everyone else should just come after, for the party!

Friday Evening Welcome Party and Rehearsal Dinner (6:30PM-10PM): Everyone is invited to kick off the weekend with food, music and some special entertainment at Wolftrap Farm. Pizza and more will come out of the wood burning oven until 9. After 9, you can still come eat, but it’ll be cold (or, as cold as something gets in Virginia in August).

Saturday Morning Yoga Class (9:30-10:30AM): For those who are interested in some pre-wedding relaxation, join us for an outdoor yoga class in one of the unused paddocks at Wolftrap Farm. We’re bringing in a teacher from a local studio to de-stress and stretch out in preparation for a night of dancing.  A limited number of mats will be provided, but bring one if you have one so we can be sure we don’t run out.  As with all the other “extra” activities, please email Kim (kimcarnahan@gmail.com) noting your interest. No cost.

Saturday Morning Trail Ride (9-11AM):  Depending on the level of interest, we’d like to organize a Saturday morning trail ride on horseback. Oakland Heights Farm, which is very close to Wolftrap Farm, does these regularly.  There will be a $40 fee per person that you will pay directly to the farm owners. Saturday Afternoon Fishing and Slip-n-Slide Fun (10AM-1PM, with lunch at noon): Come to Wolftrap Farm on Saturday from 11-2PM for fishing in the pond behind the appropriately named “Pond House”. We’ll have a few rods there, but if you can bring your own, please do. We’ll have bait to share. Ostensibly for the kiddos, but welcome to all, we will also set up a mega slip-n-slide for water fun in the August heat.  

Saturday Late Afternoon and Evening Wedding Ceremony and Reception (5:30-’till the last person drops): THE MAIN EVENT will start at 5:30PM. Bring sunglasses, a hat, and flat shoes. Please balance summer comfort with wedding appropriate attire (no jeans or shorts please). The reception will start directly after the ceremony (also at Wolftrap), where there will be more sweating, and lots of drinking, eating, dancing, speeches and maybe a few surprises. We’ll have Red Bull on hand and LATE NIGHT food because we plan to shake it till the sun comes up- or something close to that.  NOTE ON CHILDREN: Kiddos of all ages are welcome to the ceremony and reception but we will also have baby-sitters on site if/when the kids need to hit the sheets or mama and daddy just need to let loose. PLEASE let us know if you’re bringing a little one so we can have enough sitters available. NOTE ON TRANSPORT: Shuttles will bring  you to the venue and take you home, as long as you’re staying at one of the hotels listed under WHERE TO STAY on this site. Please do not drink and drive. 

Sunday Morning Brunch (10AM-1PM):  Join us, again at Wolftrap Farm, for a delicious brunch of donuts made fresh on-site, breakfast paninis, bagels with all the trimmings, sizzling bacon, and fresh fruit. There will also be plenty of drinks to help you recover–will it be coffee, bloody marys, kombucha, or all three?

Sunday Afternoon Wine Tasting and/or Battlefield Tour: For those of you sticking around Virginia for a little while longer, we would love to organize a tour of several local wineries and/or local battlefield sites. There will be a fee associated with these tours, but we won’t know the exact amount until we know what to organize, for how long, and for how many.
